Sleep test at a Sleep Center

This is an in-depth test of your sleep. The aim: to find the real causes of your fatigue. In concrete terms, you spend the night "at the hotel", i.e. in your private room at our Sleep Center in Gatineau. A qualified technician will install some twenty sensors to analyze the phases of your sleep. These sensors are designed to be as comfortable as possible.

If your doctor mentioned "polysomnography", this is what it's all about!

This test is necessary for certain patients only.

Tests offered

Polysomnography

This test ensures an accurate and reliable diagnosis. Polysomnography is the highest recognized standard in the sleep medical industry!

A qualified technician stays on site all night to make sure everything is running smoothly.

The results are analyzed by a doctor specializing in pneumology, with sleep training.

Polysomnography with device adjustment (titration)

This is the same test, but with a CPAP or biniveau device (a biniveau is a type of device that pushes two levels of pressure).

This examination follows the same structure as a polysomnography. What's more, during the night, the technician adjusts the respiratory system's parameters in real time, based on the data recorded by the sensors. As a result, the device is tailor-made for your nocturnal breathing.

Who should do a test at the Sleep Center?

Polysomnography is the most comprehensive examination, recommended for people in whom home monitors do not detect sleep events with sufficient sensitivity. It is also essential for patients with complex conditions requiring real-time adjustment of their breathing apparatus (CPAP, Biniveau), thus ensuring optimal diagnosis and treatment.

Specific sleep disorders

For those who act out their dreams, experience some form of paralysis on awakening, sleepwalk, have specific respiratory problems or for whom the home test was inconclusive.

Breathing difficulties or discomfort with a CPAP machine

For those whose treatment adjustments require special monitoring due to their medical condition, or for those who have failed home titration for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea.
